Azure virtual machines (VMs) can be created through the Azure portal. The Azure portal is a browser-based user interface to create VMs and their associated resources. This quickstart shows you how to use the Azure portal to deploy a Linux virtual machine (VM) running Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. To see your VM in action, you also SSH to the VM and install the NGINX web server.
-->
If you don't have an Azure subscription, create a free account before you begin.
Create SSH key pair
You need an SSH key pair to complete this quickstart. If you already have an SSH key pair, you can skip this step.
Open a bash shell and use ssh-keygen to create an SSH key pair. If you don't have a bash shell on your local computer, you can use the Azure Cloud Shell.
The above command generates public and private keys with the default name of
id_rsa in the ~/.ssh directory . The command returns the full path to the public key. Use the path to the public key to display its contents with cat .
Unable To Connect To Vm Using Putty
Save the output of this command. You will need it when configuring your administrator account to log in to your VM.
For more detailed information on how to create SSH key pairs, including the use of PuTTy, see How to use SSH keys with Windows.
If you create your SSH key pair using the Cloud Shell, it will be stored in an Azure File Share that is automatically mounted by the Cloud Shell. Don't delete this file share or storage account until after you have retrieved your keys or you will lose access to the VM.
Sign in to Azure
Sign in to the Azure portal.
Create virtual machine
It will take a few minutes for your VM to be deployed. When the deployment is finished, move on to the next section.
Connect to virtual machine
Create an SSH connection with the VM.
![]()
Install web server
To see your VM in action, install the NGINX web server. From your SSH session, update your package sources and then install the latest NGINX package.
When done, type
exit to leave the SSH session.
View the web server in action
Use a web browser of your choice to view the default NGINX welcome page. Enter the public IP address of the VM as the web address. The public IP address can be found on the VM overview page or as part of the SSH connection string you used earlier.
Clean up resources
When no longer needed, you can delete the resource group, virtual machine, and all related resources. To do so, select the resource group for the virtual machine, select Delete, then confirm the name of the resource group to delete.
Next steps
In this quickstart, you deployed a simple virtual machine, created a Network Security Group and rule, and installed a basic web server. To learn more about Azure virtual machines, continue to the tutorial for Linux VMs.
I am not much experienced with ubuntu servers and ssh connections, but I would like to allow ssh connections in a ubuntu machine. I am trying to connect (ssh) to this ubuntu machine (which I setup in a virtual machine). That's the server status:
And these are the host info:
However I am unable to establish a connection:
ssh: connect to host 10.0.2.15 port 22: Connection timed out
I guess I am missing something and I would be glad for any help.

In the VirtualBox > Machine > Settings > Network > Adapter 1
Select Attached to: Bridged Adapter and the name of your network card (it's probably already selected)
KatuKatu
First Method:
USING BRIDGED ADAPTER
Ssh Connect To Server
Second method:
USING NAT ADAPTER
Note:
Free ports chosen if using firewall both on host and guest

On my laptop I'm running two Ubuntu servers as guests on virtualbox. They are connected via a host-only adapter that has an IP address of '192.168.56.1', with the two guest severs having IP addresses set to '192.168.56.101' & '192.168.56.102'. Each one is able to ping the other but not ssh into it. When I try to ssh to the other guest, I'm given the following error:
The confusing thing (to me anyway) is that I can ssh in the host-only adapter on the host laptop by using:
I'm not sure of what to try next. I tried reinstalling ssh/sshd. That just gave me a whole mess of errors, but I'm thinking that if I can ssh one thing on the network on the network I should be able to ssh onto something else right? But anyway I'm definitely overlooking something.
I've tried to disable the iptables on the guests and host using
Then the used on one of the guests
![]()
and got
<-update->
Is giving me the following output:
<-update->
My /etc/hosts file looks like on all guests:
The two guest boxes do not have an /etc/hosts.allow & /etc/hosts.deny files. Fallout new vegas first player house.
ifconfig -a gives me:
and
<-update->
Gives no output
<-update->
Also when I try to get a box too SSH its self I get the same port 22: Connection refused error.

Due to the fact you're getting a rejected message I can assume you're actually seeing packets hitting the other server, I suspect ssh is not installed.
![]()
On both servers run:
sudo apt-get install openssh-server
Once the ssh server is installed it should work fine.
<-- Edit -->
I have seen that you've confirmed the service is installed so ignore the above, it may well be iptables, though it shouldn't be configured by default on Ubuntu. If you're running 12.04 you can temporarily disable the firewall by typing:
See if that helps at all.
Also, by 'whole mess of errors' what do you mean? did you try to install with or without sudo?
The file extension.FLP is the propriety audio file format used by 'Fruity Loops Studio' which is often known simply as 'Fruity Loops'. Fruity loops is described as being a 'digital audio workstation', essentially a music creation tool based around a pattern-based sequencer. I created this score for a school assignment and then realised that I can't save it to an mp3 without paying for a licence and my parents won't. There aren't any conversion programs that translate FLP files to MP3 files, but you don't actually need one. The Fruity Loops program includes a built-in. How to convert flp to mp3. Oct 19, 2017 - Get Audacity and record the sound from your computer. Just switch your input in Audacity to “stereo mix” and hit record. Then switch to FL Studio. Uhm, you can't convert FLPs to WAV/MP3, you can only render them Big Grin Go to file-export-(choose type of file) orr simply press.

Try to use the ssh -v ip address , so you can see what could be wrong during the connection!
<<-- EDIT -->>
use this command on the host 101 and post the resutl basically this command show all the network connections on your machine and I want to see if ssh run on a different port respect to 22

Are you sure you do not have a proxy command or something similar in your ssh_config file?
By looking at your output, there is a problem with the IP address in your debug output and in the error message: instead of 192.168.xxx.xxx, you have 192.268.xxx.xxx
You should check your network configuration:

I believe that the 'host-only' option creates a dedicated link between the guest and the server and VMs using host-only connections should not be able to see each other on the network.
You'll either have to bridge them in linux or use another network option.
I believe that what you are trying to achieve can be done if you change the network option of both VMs to 'Internal Network' and use the same name for both VMs.
Edit:The according to the virtualbox documentation the 'host-only' option should allow the VMs to communicate with each other but still - give it a try.
Edit2:Oh - I kinda missed the fact that the machines are able to ping each-other. In this case what I have written above is irrelevant.
